Who is this workshop for?
The weekly writing and publishing workshop is for anyone that's interested in writing and wants to learn how to get their work published. No prior experience or publications are necessary.
What is the purpose of this workshop?
The writing and publishing workshop is held each week for students who want to:
What kind of writing is welcome?
Any and all writing styles/ genres are welcome! Bring your essays, articles, poetry, short stories, memoirs, novels, etc.
What publishing topics will be covered?
In addition to workshopping each other's work and getting it publication-ready, participants will learn about a variety of topics relevant to freelance writing: Pitching etiquette; how to draft a pitch; how to find and pitch the appropriate editors at large outlets; how to get paid for your work, etc.
Do I have to publish my work?
Of course not! The publishing part of this workshop is completely optional. If you want to write just for you, that's fantastic too! If in the future you decide you'd like to try freelance writing, this workshop will give you the resources you need to get started!
Do I have to come every week?
While students will get the most out of the experience by attending each week, it is not required. You can attend as few or as many meetings as you'd like.
